We are currently working with an organization that has grown tremendously over the past few years.  As a result, we have been retained to help them identify a Director of Demand Management that will have ultimate responsibility for demand and supply planning as well as drive the end-to-end S&OP process.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Director of Demand Management reporting to the VP of Supply Chain;
  • Effectively merge the existing demand planning and supply / inventory planning processes into a globally Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process;
  • Drive overseas supplier relationships in order to effectively plan inventory levels to satisfy global demand;
  • Remain current on best S&OP and IBP (Integrated Business Planning) practices, and work to continuously evolve the overall process to meet current and future business needs;
  • Cross-functional collaboration across the organization to drive projects that will improve forecast accuracy, reduce inventory, support new product introductions, and ultimately drive product availability;
  • Protect the financial performance of the strategic business units by identifying potential supply chain issues and recommending improvements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement throughout supply chain.

Background Required:

  • Highly energetic individual with at least 10 years of supply chain planning experience, including solid forecasting / demand planning, supply planning / MRP, and S&OP / IBP background;
  • Experience driving S&OP in organizations with a formal S&OP process;
  • Strong communication and influencing skills are a must;
  • Effective use of Tier-1 planning applications (i.e. SAP APO, JDA, Manugistics, Demantra, i2, Logility, etc.);
  • Experience leveraging MRP systems to manage the supply planning process.
  • Bachelor's required;
  • Proven track record of success in similar role.
